Taking our solar carport message to Ecobuild 2018
Ecobuild is certainly a good fit for us. It’s pitched as ‘the number one event for forward thinkers in design, construction and the built environment’ – and we’d certainly define our solar carport solutions as forward thinking.
At the 2018 event, we join BRE in a dedicated event to launch ‘Multifunctional Solar Car Parks: a good practice guide for owners and developers.’
We’ve worked closely with the BRE National Solar Centre to publish the new edition of the guide; a publication designed to help embed good practice in site selection, design, and project delivery of multifunctional systems that incorporate solar, storage and EV charging. It also aims to provide confidence to investors and system developers to create new business cases with multiple income streams for investment.
As the UK Government looks towards integrating energy and transport infrastructure, diversifying our energy mix and improving air quality, solving problems associated with intermittent renewables generation and finding low carbon solutions which balance electricity supply and demand are becoming more imperative. Solar car parks can be part of this solution; providing a more welcoming EV charging experience for users, offering accessible and well-lit spaces protected from the weather and providing the added benefit of supplying clean, renewable energy for EV.
The good practice guide will be officially launched at Ecobuild on Tuesday 6th March in the ‘Quality and Performance in Construction – Technical Workshop’ from 4.20pm (in the Building Performance zone D28).
Places at the workshop are allocated on a first come, first basis. Let us know if you’d like to join us.
