FlexiSolar shortlisted for Solar Power Portal Awards
We are delighted to confirm that FlexiSolar has been shortlisted for the 2018 Solar Power Portal Awards. We are in with a chance of winning The ‘Best in Show’ Solar Design Award category and will find out if we have won in a dedicated awards ceremony in Birmingham on 17th October.
FlexiSolar has been shortlisted for the award with it’s Bentley Motors Solar Carport project, which is set to be the UK’s largest solar carport system, with 10,000 solar panels and a PV capacity of 2.7MW. The bespoke solar structures will shelter approximately 1,378 car parking spaces in 27 rows at the Bentley manufacturing facility. You can read more about the project here.
2018 is the sixth year for The Solar Power Portal Awards, with an expanded set of categories, including several new ones. The evening will once again be host to up to 600 clean energy professionals from the UK and beyond, with 15 prizes up for grabs at a glittering gala dinner ceremony. Our inclusion on the shortlist demonstrates that the large scale solar carport system for Bentley Motors is a clear example of an integrated energy solution, and one that utilises an existing parking area without sacrificing valuable land resources.
FlexiSolar is committed to best practice and recently worked with The Building Research Establishment (BRE) to develop and publish the ‘Multifunctional Solar Car Parks: A good practice guide for owners and developers’ and the ‘Technical Guide to Multifunctional Solar Car Parks’.
